She sells seashells by the seashore… of Brighton ;)

Who could resist a restaurant by the beach with a view of the seaside with super comfy sofa seating, ultra-friendly staff who would explain every dish to you, and a 3 course-lunch with a Bloody Mary for £19.95?

Southern France brunch encounter

Quite distinct from some exquisite French cuisine restaurants, there are no glamorous plating, extravagant ingredients, nor fancy cooking technique (which sometimes, I think, has the sole aim of making food not look like what it really is - it makes a kind of impression, but most of the time, I can’t really see the point). Sardine uses fresh ingredients and concentrates on how to do simple dishes properly and how to do it best. The dishes are simple but to-the-point most of the time.

Sunday roast picnic under a blue sky

Islington is the place to-be if you are looking for a legit Sunday roast and you want to spend a lovely Sunday morning on a (rather rare) fine-weather day in London. I have chosen to spend mine in The Albion.

Post-work whisky night

Tucked away among the streets near Liverpool Street Station (and within a 5-minute walk from where I stay in London), Black Rock is a basement bar that has it all, the ambience, the secrecy, the friendly staff and – the interesting whisky collection. The dim lights and everything being jet black add to the mystique vibe of the bar.

Sunday roast with a Nordic touch

Our original plan for the Sunday afternoon was to get Sunday Roast at the famed The Pig & The Butcher, but we were told the wait would be at least 1.5 hours (which turns out to be 2 hours in reality), so we decided to go for this Scandinavian restaurant listed on DOJO as doing "Expertly Cooked Meals".
